Recently, our company successfully completed the verification of greenhouse gas emissions of modern animal husbandry (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "modern animal husbandry") according to the ISO14064-1:2018 standard, and issued the verification certificate.
ISO14064 standard provides the best international model of greenhouse gas information and data management, reporting and verification. China Classification Society Quality Certification Co., Ltd., as a greenhouse gas certification/verification institution approved by China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), has verified the greenhouse gas emissions of one feed factory and 35 pastures under the control of modern animal husbandry operation in 2021, GHG emissions covering categories I and II.
Modern Dairy is the first company in the country to be listed on the market with dairy farming resources, and it is also the largest dairy farming company and high-quality raw milk supplier in China. The verification work was carried out by CNAS accredited institutions in accordance with the ISO14064-1:2018 standard, which played a leading and exemplary role in ensuring the quality of carbon emission data from animal husbandry in China.
The verification found that the main emission sources of modern animal husbandry include methane emissions from intestinal fermentation of dairy cows, methane emissions from manure management, and carbon dioxide emissions from energy combustion. Modern animal husbandry has reduced the carbon emissions of the whole industry chain by optimizing feed ratio, captive management, semi-underground push-flow fermentation system, low-carbon biogas treatment, manure scraping and pipeline transportation, biogas utilization and other measures, and the carbon emission intensity per unit of milk production is significantly better than the industry average.
