In order to implement the directive spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping "pay more attention to the management of the ocean" and speed up the construction of a world-class marine port, on 3 14, the 2024 -year world-class port group construction (Weifang) project of Shandong Port was put into operation and the commencement ceremony of the new project was held in Weifang, Shandong Province. The meeting simultaneously released the "zero carbon port" creation plan of Shandong Port Bohai Bay Port Weifang Port. China Classification Society Quality Certification Co., Ltd. (CCSC) Party Secretary, Chairman Tian Wei was invited to attend the meeting.
At the meeting, Chairman Tian Wei, on behalf of CCSC, presented the Weifang Port Area Commitment Carbon Neutrality Certificate to Shandong Port Bohai Bay Port Group and delivered a speech. He said that Shandong Port Group and Bohai Bay Port Group have implemented the national "double carbon" goal with practical actions, accelerated the process of Shandong Port Group to build a world-class marine port and an international leading intelligent green port, and played an important role in the port industry. CCSC will continue to work together with Shandong Port Group and Bohai Bay Port Group to carry out more extensive cooperation in the fields of green and low-carbon, safety and quality, inspection and certification, so as to contribute to the realization of Chinas "double carbon" goal, the construction of a strong transportation country, the high-quality economic and social development and the high-level protection of the ecological environment.
Bohai Bay Port is one of the four major ports owned by Shandong Port Group. The construction of smart port, green port and zero carbon port is the key task for Bohai Bay Port to become a world-class port. In order to assist the construction of a zero-carbon port in Bohai Bay Port, CCSC gave full play to its professional advantages in the field of green and low carbon, evaluated the commitment of Shandong Port Bohai Bay Port Weifang Port to achieve carbon neutrality and the corresponding carbon neutrality management plan according to PAS2060:2014 Code for Carbon Neutrality Confirmation, and issued a committed carbon neutrality certificate. This cooperation with Bohai Bay Port is another example of in-depth cooperation with the ownership units of Shandong Port Group after CCSC signed a strategic cooperation with Yantai Port Group. In recent years, CCSC has made continuous efforts in serving the national maritime power strategy, and has made important contributions to the construction of "near zero carbon port area" standard in the port industry, the innovation of green port and shipping standardization, the formulation of group standards, the certification of management system, and safety technical services.
