December 3, 2024 is the 33rd International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This is a festival established by the United Nations to care for persons with disabilities. This years theme is "Strengthening the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future".
There are 85 million disabled people in our 1.4 billion population, accounting for about 6% of the total population. In recent years, the state has vigorously promoted the construction of a barrier-free environment that cares for the disabled, promotes high-quality employment for the disabled, and continuously improves the social security system and care service system for the disabled. According to statistics, the number of disabled persons with certificates in my country has reached 9.126 million, and there are more than 100000 disabled college students at school. They have made every effort to promote scientific and technological assistance to the disabled. This year, more than 443000 disabled children have been rescued, basically achieving the goal of "saving as much as possible". Completed the barrier-free transformation of 1.1776 million families with severe disabilities and overfulfilled the "14th Five-Year Plan" task ahead of schedule.Since the 18th CPC National Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping has put forward a series of new ideas, new ideas and new requirements for the construction of barrier-free environment in China. China Classification Society Quality Certification Co., Ltd. (CCSC) actively demonstrates the role of state-owned enterprises and takes the initiative. Since its establishment, CCSC Barrier-free Business Center has completed barrier-free environment certification projects in many fields, such as airports, exhibition halls, universities, peoples livelihood complexes, service centers for the disabled, courts, libraries, disabled persons federations and other fields, and has established close contacts with many disabled persons federations to serve the relevant fields of barrier-free environment construction, committed to the construction and promotion of barrier-free environment, and strive to expand the construction of barrier-free environment in the whole society, it has made a positive contribution to the construction and promotion of barrier-free environment.
On December 3, the day of the International Day of the Disabled, CCSC Barrier-free Business Center and Guangxi Branch participated in the research activities on the work of the disabled in Fengshan County, Hechi, Guangxi, and discussed the barrier-free renovation of families with severe disabilities, the construction of barrier-free environments, and the opinions of representatives of the National Peoples Congress. Proposals and suggestions and other matters, and on-site surveys of barrier-free facilities such as barrier-free entrances, put forward professional rectification suggestions to the CDPF of the autonomous region for the existing problems.
On the morning of December 3, Hainan Branch participated in the charity auction of calligraphy and painting sponsored by Hainan disabled peoples foundation, and purchased the calligraphy work of disabled people, "iron must be hard", donated money and love.
In the afternoon of the same day, Anhui Branch participated in the theme seminar of "Further Promoting Hefei Bus Barrier-free Travel" by the Hefei Association for the Disabled, and introduced the barrier-free construction standards and technical specifications of the public transportation industry, as well as CCSCs barrier-free transportation industry. The relevant work carried out in the field and the professional ability were unanimously recognized by the participants.
The International Day for the Disabled is colorful, but it takes more than one day to help the disabled. The construction of barrier-free environment has a long way to go. Everyone should be a participant in barrier-free environment, and everyone will be a beneficiary of barrier-free environment. In order to safeguard the dignity, rights and happiness of the disabled, and to give every life the same respect, CCSC will not forget its original intention, forge ahead, convey trust, serve development, and contribute wisdom and strength to the construction of a barrier-free and beautiful China.
