The crude oil of the carbon neutral oil project is produced in Angola and imported by Sinopec United Petrochemical Company. COSCO Shipping, as the carrier, travels more than 9300 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean and arrives at Zhoushan Port in China. After two-way transportation, 30000 tons of crude oil are refined in Sinopec Gaoqiao Petrochemical Company. The types of energy involved include motor gasoline, motor diesel, aviation kerosene, liquefied petroleum gas marine diesel, marine diesel and low sulfur fuel. The project has the characteristics of cross-country, cross-industry, cross-language, and involving a large variety of products. Its complexity and difficulty are unprecedented, and there is a lack of verification experience of similar projects in China. Entrusted by the Shanghai Energy Exchange, the Shanghai Branch conducted on-site investigations on the greenhouse gas emissions generated by the designated batch of crude oil during the entire life cycle of mining, transportation, refining, storage, and product use in accordance with relevant international and national standards. Data collection, evidence collection, accounting, and verification conclusions were made to assist the three companies to achieve a complete sense of my countrys first ship carbon-neutral oil. The project explores a cross-industry, full-cycle, and zero-emission path, which is a milestone in promoting the implementation of the "double carbon" goal in my countrys transportation energy field.
