In October, the Greek project Golden Union Shipping Retrofit Project approved by China Classification Society Quality Certification Co., Ltd. was successfully registered as the worlds first gold standard (Gold Standard) project for ship energy efficiency improvement, which is also the first application project of ship energy efficiency improvement measures (Shipping Retrofit methodology) in the world.

The Greek project is the first application project of the gold standard ship energy efficiency methodology in the world. Since there are no similar cases to refer to before and the gold standard is the voluntary emission reduction standard with the most international rules and the most stringent certification requirements, the project is difficult. In order to successfully register the project, our company actively communicates with the Greek shipowner customers, in-depth exchanges with American consulting companies, and fully interfaces with the gold standard secretariat, repeated discussions on the feasibility, application scope, obstacle assessment and other details of the monitoring scheme have solved many difficult problems such as accurate estimation of emission reductions superimposed by different transformation technologies and demonstration of technical additionality. The final project was successfully registered as a gold standard project, which has been fully recognized by customers and reflects the professional ability and serious and rigorous work style of our personnel in the field of carbon emissions.
Since EU countries also undertake emission reduction obligations under the framework of the United Nations Convention on Climate Change, this project is to incorporate the emission reductions of international shipping, that is, international fuel bunkers, into the trading market, avoiding the double calculation of national emission reduction compliance, and is highly innovative.
Over the years, our company has carried out audits of domestic and foreign voluntary emission reduction projects such as Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), National Certification Voluntary Emission Reduction (CCER), Gold Standard (GS), International Certification Voluntary Carbon Emission Reduction Standard (VCS), etc., completed various types of projects such as green and low-carbon standard compilation, green evaluation, energy audit, carbon emission verification, etc. with high quality, and fulfilled the mission of conformity assessment technical service institutions in the "double carbon" upsurge.
