On June 28, the 2023 East Asia Maritime Cooperation Platform Qingdao Forum opened in Qingdao West Coast New Area. This forum is sponsored by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the peoples Government of Shandong Province, and hosted by the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the peoples Government of Qingdao. The theme of this forum is "the decade of the Ocean". More than 400 guests, including marine experts, economists and entrepreneurs from more than 30 countries and regions, discussed marine cooperation plans in the form of "online and offline" and jointly sought the vision of marine development. Fan Qiang, vice president of China Classification Society, and Tian Wei, general manager of China Classification Society Quality Certification Co., Ltd. (CCSC), were invited to attend the forum.
As a key exchange platform for the Qingdao Forum, the East Asia Ocean Expo was held at the same time. The Expo attracted shipowners, shipyards, equipment suppliers, service providers, maritime colleges and other institutions from the port and shipping, offshore equipment, smart ocean, marine cultural tourism, marine emergency and rescue industries. CCSC publicized and introduced hot topics in the industry such as marine carbon sink and green supply chain at the booth of China Classification Society in the offshore equipment area.
