On September 17, the China Classification Society Quality Certification Co., Ltd. (CCSC) Jiangsu Branch hosted the "Building a Green Ship and Sea Industry Chain to Create a New Future for Low-Carbon Development" exchange meeting held in Nantong. The conference aims to promote the green, low-carbon, high-quality and coordinated development of the marine industry. It has become an important branch activity of Nantong Marine Industry Exhibition in 2026. It is supported by Jiangsu Ship Carbon Footprint Industry Research Institute and guided by Nantong Industry and Information Bureau.
Nantong is the core highland of domestic marine industry. At present, maritime decarbonization speed up, IMO, EU CSRD and other rules landing, green low-carbon is the whole industry chain of shipping and sea must answer. Liu Zhongji, general manager of Jiangsu Branch, said that CCSC has continued to cultivate low-carbon services for ships and has completed the countrys first carbon footprint certification for whole ships. The Joint Research Institute has carried out research on the carbon footprint of ship matching products to help enterprises reduce transformation costs and promote the implementation of technical solutions for industrial effectiveness.
Qin Xiao, deputy director of Nantong Municipal Bureau of industry and information technology, introduced the development status of Nantong marine industry. This paper expounds the development focus and work orientation of the industry, which has been paid close attention to by the participating enterprises. Experts from the marine industry and representatives of participating companies focused on the CCS carbon footprint service system, carbon footprint accounting method we will share cutting-edge technologies, practical cases and industry standards to provide professional support for the low-carbon transformation of the marine industry. During the exchange meeting, Hang Zhongjiu, deputy general manager of Jiangsu Branch of China Classification Society (CCS), issued approval certificates for steel wire rope products of Jiangsu Langshan Steel Rope Co., Ltd. and fire window products of Jiangsu Anchor Technology Co., Ltd. With the authority certification to empower the ship with the enterprise green upgrade, to help Nantong ship marine supporting industry to green, high-end.
The conference brought together the government, industry institutions, and key enterprises to build a professional industry exchange platform.
